TWIN FALLS - The College of Southern Idaho took a 9-1 run rule in the opener Friday and then finished the day off with a 4-2 win over Colorado Northwestern in Scenic West Athletic Conference play.
The pitchers were dominant all day.
In game one,
Kami Merrill earned her ninth win of the year, giving up five hits with six strikeouts and one earned run. In the second game,
Kelsey Christensen went the distance, giving up just three hits with seven strikeouts and one earned run.
Shea Ibrahim continued her torrid pace at the plate. In the first game, she went 2-for-2 with three RBI and two doubles. In the second game, she came up huge, knocking her 10th home run of the season to give CSI the final margin. She was 1-for-2 with three RBI.
Kayla Carter also had a good day at the plate, going 4-for-5.
CSI, now 4-1 in SWAC play, hosts Colorado Northwestern Saturday at noon for a doubleheader followed by an open house for the public to see the new clubhouse.
