TWIN FALLS - The College of Southern Idaho men's basketball team had a shot at the buzzer but couldn't convert, falling to North Idaho 69-68 Saturday in a Scenic West Athletic Conference battle.
The Golden Eagles trailed by as much as 10 points in the second half but a furious comeback late gave CSI a chance for the win with 9 seconds left.
Austin Pope was fouled with 13 seconds on the clock and the game tied at 68. He knocked down one of two free throws.
Fredrick Edmond secured the rebound and CSI immediately called a time out.
Shaq Carr brought the ball down the court and passed to
Tyson Smith who fired up a 3-pointer that just missed, giving North Idaho the win and snapping CSI's 25-game winning streak.
Shaq Carr led the Golden Eagles in scoring with 17.
Abdoulaye Harouna added 11 and
Tyson Smith finished with 10.
Fredrick Edmond led the Eagles on the boards with nine to go with nine points and five assists.
CSI, now 25-1 overall, will host Colorado Northwestern Thursday and USU Eastern on Saturday.
