TWIN FALLS - The fifth-ranked College of Southern Idaho women went on a 22-5 run in the second quarter to distance themselves and run away with a 77-42 win over Lake Region Friday in the Fisher's Tech Invite.
The Golden Eagles held just a five-point lead after the first quarter but then rolled from there. CSI shot 53 percent from the field in the first half compared to 29 percent for Lake Region.
Samantha Lubcke led the Eagles with 12 points and eight rebounds.
Kandiss Barber added 12 points and three rebounds.
Brianna Osorio and
Alexia Mefi scored 11 points apiece. Osorio added six assists and Mefi added six rebounds.
All but one Golden Eagle scored in the win as the bench scored 35 points for CSI.
Not only was CSI's pressure key in holding Lake Region to 26 percent from the field for the game, but CSI forced Lake Region into 26 turnovers resulting in 35 of the Golden Eagles points.
CSI, now 11-0, plays Chemeketa Saturday at 6 p.m.
