TWIN FALLS - Western Wyoming led for 21 minutes but the College of Southern Idaho Men's Basketball team led when it counted, beating the Mustangs 74-71 Thursday in the Fisher's Tech Invitational.
With the game tied at a 71, Western Wyoming looked poised to score but a huge block by
Darryl Gaynor followed by two free throws by Gaynor put CSI up 73-71 with six seconds in the game.Â
The Mustangs threw the ball away on the inbounds and quickly fouled CSI's
Ar'Mond Davis, who hit one of two free throws, giving the Golden Eagles their final margin.
Gaynor ended the game with 16 points and seven assists.
Marquis Godfrey was huge all night on the boards, finishing with 17 rebounds to go with 12 points.
Pape Diatta added 17 points and eight rebounds and
Shaq Carr had 10 points.
CSI, now 8-2- overall, plays Lethbridge Friday.
