LAS VEGAS, Nev. - It wasn't pretty as the College of Southern Idaho Women's Basketball team committed 26 turnovers, but a win is a win as the Golden Eagles cruised to a 71-57 victory over Eastern Arizona Wednesday in the Southern Nevada Tournament.
Kandiss Barber again sparked CSI, dominating with 20 points and 15 rebounds.
While Eastern Arizona committed fewer turnovers, the Golden Eagles out-rebounded the Gilamonsters and posted a higher field goal percentage at 41 percent compared to just 28 percent for EAC.
Samantha Lubcke also had a big night on the boards, finishing with 12 along with seven points.
Anna Jofresa added 12 points, four assists, six steals and four rebounds. Other Golden Eagles in double digit scoring included
Matti Ventling and
Brianna Osorio, both with 11. Osorio also finished with five assists and five rebounds.
CSI, now 17-0 and 3-0 in SWAC, travel to Ontario, Ore. Saturday to play Treasure Valley CC at 6 p.m. If the Golden Eagles can add a win, it would set up a huge matchup of two undefeated teams Jan. 7th at CSI.Â
Salt Lake CC, currently 18-0 and ranked number one in the country, travels to CSI, who is 17-0 and ranked number four in the country. Game time is set for 5:30 p.m. on the 7th.
