TWIN FALLS - The fourth-ranked College of Southern Idaho Women's Basketball team jumped out to a 19-0 lead to open its game Tuesday with Treasure Valley and coasted from there, beating the Chukars 83-55.
The offense started with the defense early as Eagle
Brianna Osorio led the way. The freshman helped CSI get quick buckets with several steals and that's all the cushion the Golden Eagles would need. Osorio finished the game with a double-double, posting 19 points and 10 steals to go with five rebounds and two assists. Teammate
Alexia Mefi also got a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Samantha Lubcke was solid all night offensively, scoring 17 points and pulling down six rebounds.
The Golden Eagles saw solid games from
Ma Kenzie VanSickle (eight points, nine assists) and
Ruby Shreeve (six points, five rebounds, four steals).
CSI, now 9-0 overall, host the Fisher's Tech Invitational Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
One area the Eagles will need to clean up is turnovers, where they finished with 16. But a highlight was free-throw shooting, where CSI was 9-for-10 from the line.
