CASPER, Wyo. - The College of Southern Idaho Volleyball team will play for its 11th NJCAA National Championship Saturday at 6:30 p.m. after beating Hillsborough 25-14, 25-15, 25-23 Friday in the semifinals of the tournament.
The Golden Eagles won their first two sets with ease before having to battle back and forth in the third set.
Tawnee Luafalemana was dominant again, finishing the match with 14 kills and just four errors. She added six blocks and an ace.
The only other CSI player in double digit kills was
Alexandra Espinosa. She tallied 11 kills and four digs. Libero
Luana Thompson led the Eagles in digs with 15, while
Regan Harr added 36 assists.
The Golden Eagles will play Western Nebraska for the national championship. The two teams played earlier this year with Western Nebraska taking the match in five sets.
