POCATELLO - The College of Southern Idaho men's rodeo team continued its winning ways, winning the Rocky Mountain Regional Rodeo Thursday and the Idaho State University Rodeo Friday and Saturday to hold down first place in the region by close to 1000 points.
The Golden Eagle women's rodeo team took second in the Rocky Mountain Region Rodeo and third in the ISU Rodeo, maintaining its second-place standing through the first two weekends.
On Thursday,
Trasen Jones won the bull riding and
Baden Newman took first in steer wrestling.
In the ISU Rodeo,
Rusty Wright led a group of four CSI cowboys in Saddle Bronc Riding. Wright won the event followed by
Wyatt Hurst,
Clayton Brum and
Carson Hamilton to round out the top four.
Ryan Kesl claimed the top prize for steer wrestling, while
Jordan LaRoque won the barrel racing.
CSI travels to Utah State University Sept. 26-27 for its next rodeo.
