SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - The 3rd-ranked College of Southern Idaho volleyball team lost just one set en route to five match wins this weekend in the Scottsdale CC Volleyball Tournament.
The Golden Eagles beat South Mountain (#10 Division II) 25-15, 25-23, 25-13; Pima 25-13, 20-25, 25-14, 25-16; Chandler-Gilert 25-18, 25-21, 25-15; Eastern Arizona 25-23, 25-13, 25-14; and Glendale 25-17, 25-18, 25-15.
On Thursday against South Mountain,
Jessi Seumalo finished with eight kills on 12 attempts and no errors along with two blocks.
The Golden Eagles played Pima CC and Chandler-Gilbert on Friday.
Chloe Watson led CSI with 12 kills and 10 digs against Pima and
Alexandra Espinosa led the Eagles against Chandler-Gilbert. She posted 11 kills and two blocks. Lepeka Kalulu stood out defensively with 13 digs.
On the final day against Eastern Arizona, Watson, Anae and Espinosa all finished with 10 kills. Watson added four aces and eight digs. In the last match against Glendale, Anae had 13 kills and seven digs. Kalulu finished with 14 digs.
The Golden Eagles improve to 16-1 overall and are off this week before hosting Colorado Northwestern Thursday, Sept. 25 at 7 p.m.
