#4 CSI Softball advances to Region 18 Championship

TWIN FALLS - The fourth-ranked College of Southern Idaho softball team defeated #17 Salt Lake CC in the Region 18 Tournament semifinals to earn a spot in the region championship Saturday at noon.
The Golden Eagles jumped out to a 7-1 lead going into the sixth inning and held on after giving up three runs in the top of the sixth.
CSI's Whitney Littledike and Kayla Carter hit back to back home runs in the fourth to break open the game. Littledike ended the game 2-3 with 2 RBI. Carley White finished 1-2 with 2 RBI as well.
Sierra Whitmer earned the win in the circle, pitching seven innings with four strikeouts and giving up just five hits.
Earlier in the tournament the Eagles dominated Snow College 14-2 behind four home runs and an almost flawless performance by pitcher Brandi Hall. Hall finished the game giving up just two hits with 10 strikeouts in five innings.
S. Whitmer pounded two home runs with six RBI and S. Ibrahim added a grandslam.
CSI will play the winner of Salt Lake and CSN/WNC in the championship. The game will be on live stats at:
