CSI Softball earns splits with North Idaho

TWIN FALLS - The College of Southern Idaho softball team dominated North Idaho in the first game 20-5, before falling 7-6, winning 4-0 and losing in eight innings 6-4 last weekend.
The Golden Eagles had their chances in game 2, out-hitting the Cardinals 13-8 but CSI left 14 runners stranded in the game. Two untimely errors led to five of the Cardinals 7 runs.
In the first game of each day, CSI rolled. The Golden Eagles posted 18 hits in the 20-5 victory and used solid pitching and defense in the 4-0 game.
Aubrey Whitmer continued her torrid hitting pace, finishing the weekend 9-for-14 with 10 RBI and a home run. Her twin sister Sierra finished the weekend with two wins in the circle and 2 home runs at the plate.
Golden Eagle Shea Ibrahim also had a solid weekend, going 6-for-12 at the plate with 4 RBI and two home runs.
CSI travels to Treasure Valley for a doubleheader Thursday at 2 p.m. The Golden Eagles being their second round through the Scenic West Athletic Conference next week when they host Western Nevada.
