TWIN FALLS - The 11th-ranked College of Southern Idaho women's basketball team started slow, trailing by nine points early in the second half, but a tenatious defense led CSI back and ultimately to a 67-50 victory Saturday.
CSI out-rebounded North Idaho 49-32 and the Golden Eagles forced the Cardinals into 19 turnovers for the game and just a 33 percent field goal percentage.
CSI knocked down 83 percent of its free throws, making 20-of-24 from the line.
The Golden Eagles improve to 22-3 overall.
McClain Williams led CSI in the scoring column with 11 points. Julia Dufurrena added six points and 17 rebounds, while Elisabet Sagrera had 10 points, four rebounds and five steals.
CSI travels to USU-Eastern and Colorado Northwestern next week.
