ROCK SPRINGS, Wyo. - The seventh-ranked College of Southern Idaho women's basketball team defeated Western Wyoming 75-63 Saturday to open its season 1-0.
The Golden Eagles were led by
Holly Blades, who finished with 15 points and four rebounds. Teammate
Samantha Lubcke added 11 points and three rebounds.
Ma Kenzie VanSickle came off the bench to spark CSI, putting together a solid line of six points, seven rebounds, two assists and one steal.
The Golden Eagles out-rebounded Western Wyoming 54-49 and shot a higher percentage from the free-throw line - 69.2 percent (CSI) to 64.7 percent (WWCC).
CSI hosts the Coca Cola Classic Tournament Friday and Saturday at the CSI Gymnasium. The Golden Eagles wil play the 7:30 p.m. game both days.
