TWIN FALLS - The 3rd-ranked College of Southern Idaho volleyball team defeated Northwest College 25-22, 25-17, 25-22 early Saturday before falling to Snow College 25-21, 22-25, 18-25, 25-23, 15-11 in the Buffalo Wild Wings Championship.
The Golden Eagles struggled to shut down Badger outside hitter Madi Packard who finished the match with 27 kills on 75 attempts. Snow kept CSI off balance offensively all match, finishing with 14 blocks and forcing the Eagles into a .105 hitting percentage.
Natasa Savovic was a bright spot for CSI, posting 17 kills and 11 digs. Libero Braiden Johnston ended the match with 20 digs.
In the earlier game against Northwest, Jessi Seumalo led the Eagles with 13 kills and three blocks.
The Golden Eagles, 3-1, travel to Salt Lake next weekend for a 2-day tournament.
In other games Saturday, USU-Eastern defeated Central Wyoming 25-19, 26-24, 29-31, 25-21 before losing to them 25-17, 25-22, 25-21 in the 5th-6th place match.
Snow beat Casper College 25-19, 25-23, 25-23 earlier in the day.
