TWIN FALLS - The fourth-ranked CSI softball team swept North Idaho Friday and Saturday to win the regular season Scenic West Athletic Conference title and hosting rights for the Region 18 Tournament.
The Golden Eagles won Friday's games 11-6 and 11-4 and then followed it with 8-0 and 9-1 run rule victories on Saturday.
CSI hit well Friday, finishing with 23 hits on the day. But it was the Golden Eagle pitching that shined on Saturday on sophomore day.
Nellie Makings threw game one, giving up six hits and one run.
Brandi Hall gave up one hit in the game 2 shutout.
CSI finishes the regular season with a 45-9 overall record and a 39-5 conference record.
The Golden Eagles will host the Region 18 Tournament May 8-11. CSI will open the tournament Thursday at noon.
