CSI baseball bounces back with 4-game sweep

RANGELY, Colo. - The College of Southern Idaho baseball team did not lack for offense this weekend when they swept Colorado Northwestern CC 13-4, 18-6, 10-7 and 31-9 in Scenic West Athletic Conference play.
With the wins, the Golden Eagles improve to 21-13 overall and 10-8 in league play.
Ten CSI hitters hit .500 or better over the four-game series, led by Billy-Bob Ward's .706. He went 12-for-17 with seven runs scored, 13 RBI and one home run.
Tanner Morache also posted double-digit hits with 11, including three doubles, three home runs and 14 RBI.
As a team, the Golden Eagles hit .544 compared to .228 for CNCC.
Eric Holdren threw the most innings for CSI, going 10.1 innings and giving up just three earned runs with six strikeouts.
CSI hosts USU-Eastern Friday at 1 p.m. and Saturday at noon for SWAC doubleheaders.
