RANGELY, Colo. - The 6th-ranked College of Southern Idaho men's basketball team won its fourth straight game heading into the Region 18 Tournament next week by beating Utah State University Eastern 70-69 Friday and Colorado NW 71-62 Saturday on the road.
The Golden Eagles shot just 50 percent from the free-throw line against Eastern but still hung on for the win. Fabyon Harris led CSI with 21 points. Luke Cothron was key, scoring 12 points and pulling down 11 rebounds.
Against CNCC, Rafriel Guthrie scored 15 points to lead CSI.
CSI opens the Region 18 Tournament Friday at 7:30 p.m. against the winner of Snow College and Colorado NW. The Golden Eagles enter the tournament as the top seed.
A win Friday would put CSI into the championship game Saturday.
