TWIN FALLS - The College of Southern Idaho earned a split against Salt Lake CC Friday in Scenic West Athletic Conference play. The Golden Eagles fell 5-3 in game one before coming back to take game two 4-3.
The storm rolled in Saturday and the scheduled doubleheader was canceled.
In game one, Carter Yagi and Chase Harris  finished 2-for-4 at the plate and Ben Douglas was 2-for-3 but it wasn't enough. Eric Holdren took the loss for CSI but threw all seven innings and gave up just four earned runs on four hits. The Golden Eagles out-hit SLCC 8-4 but didn't get the timely hits they needed.
In game two, CSI trailed 3-2 heading into the eighth inning. The Golden Eagles tied the game when Tanner Morache scored on a throwing error by Salt Lake's catcher.
The Golden Eagles won the game in the bottom of the ninth on a walk-off hit by Keenan Takatch, scoring Billy-Bob Ward.
CSI, 17-9 overall and 6-4 in SWAC play, travels to Western Nevada and Colorado NW the next two weekends.
