TWIN FALLS - The College of Southern Idaho scored seven runs in the bottom of the seventh inning of game 2 to tie but saw the lead and the win disappear in the seventh as Snow College hit a solo shot to win 11-10 Friday in game 2 of a Scenic West Athletic Conference doubleheader.
The Golden Eagles won game one 4-3 to post the split. Saturday's doubleheader was canceled due to bad weather conditions.
CSI's
Jyl Eckstein posted game one win in the circle, going seven innings and giving up just two earned runs. At the plate only
Tyler Wilkinson was able to finish with more than one hit. The freshman went 2-for-4 with one run scored.
Chelsea Buttars had the biggest hit of the day though, knocking in two runs to tie the game in the fourth.
Alyana Watson doubled in the sixth to score Wilkinson and give CSI the winning run.
In game two, the Golden Eagles struggled all game to shut down Snow's Allee Carter. The sophomore finished the game 5-for-5 with five RBI and three runs scored.
Still, CSI rallied in the 7th down 10-3, scoring seven runs with two outs to tie the game.
Snow answered with a solo home run in the top of the eighth and CSI managed just one baserunner and no runs in the bottom of the eighth.
The Golden Eagles move to 18-9 overall and 9-4 in league play. CSI hosts North Idaho Friday and Saturday for doubleheaders.
