ST. GEORGE, Utah - The College of Southern Idaho softball team took three out of four games against College of Southern Nevada Wednesday and Thursday in its opening Scenic West Athletic Conference series.
CSI beat CSN 6-2 and 14-8 on Wednesday and lost to the Coyotes 7-5 Thursday before finishing with a 5-2 victory.
The Golden Eagles were led by Tyler Wilkinson. The freshman outfielder finished the four games with a .611 batting average, going 11-for-18 at the plate with one home run and only two strikeouts.
Alyana Watson also had a good series, hitting 7 for -16 for .438.
Jyl Eckstein posted the lowest era against Southern Nevada and came away with a 2-0 record. She threw 10.1 innings with 13 strikeouts and a 3.39 ERA. Jessi Duncan earned the other win in the circle for CSI and a 3.50 ERA.
The Golden Eagles, 11-6, play four more SWAC games Friday and Saturday against Colorado NW.
