TWIN FALLS - The 3rd-ranked College of Southern Idaho volleyball team defeated Snow College in the Region 18 Tournament semifinals 25-17, 22-25, 25-18, 25-16 Friday to advance to the Region 18 Championship.
Keani Passi led the Eagles with 20 kills. She added six digs and three blocks. Key all match for CSI was right side hitter Liene Mellupe. She finished the match with 13 kills, 15 digs and six blocks.
The CSI block was huge as the Golden Eagles outblocked Snow 13-5, led by Kaylee Holmstead's eight block assists.
CSI and North Idaho will advance to the NJCAA National Tournament but will play in the Region 18 Championship Saturday at 1 p.m. for seeding.

NIC vs. CNCC Boxscore
Match 1 - North Idaho College def. Colorado Northwestern CC 25-2, 25-13, 25-15
Yang Yang and Kaitlyn Molloy led North Idaho with 12 kills apiece. Allison Meehan finished with 23 assists and Molloy added 10 digs. With the win, NIC advances to the semifinal against Salt Lake CC at 4 p.m.

Snow vs. USU-Eastern Boxscore
Match 2 - Snow College def. USU-Eastern 25-19, 27-25, 25-23
Amy Sorenson led Snow with 14 kills, while Brenna DeYoung added 11 kills with just one error and 4 blocks. For USU-Eastern Lindzey Bair led the Golden Eagles with 9 kills and 2 blocks. Snow advances to the semifinal against CSI at 7 p.m.

NIC vs. Salt Lake CC Boxscore
Match 3 - North Idaho def. Salt Lake 25-23, 23-25, 25-18, 26-24
Yang Yang and Kaitlyn Molloy came up huge in leading 8th-ranked North Idaho past 5th-ranked Salt Lake, Yang Yang finished the match with 20 kills, 15 digs and six blocks. Molloy added 18 kills with no hitting errors and 8 digs. Salt Lake's Mayra Ramirez led the Bruins with 20 kills.
