TWIN FALLS - The College of Southern Idaho volleyball team beat Yavapai 25-20, 25-17, 25-22 and 7th-ranked Salt Lake CC 25-17, 19-25, 25-18, 18-25, 15-11 Saturday in the Starr Corporation Invite.
The Golden Eagles were the only team to go undefeated in the tournament with five of the six teams competing ranked in the NJCAA poll.
In the Salt Lake match, three CSI players posted double digits in kills, led by Liene Mellupe and Taylor Wilkinson. Both finished with 12. Mellupe added eight blocks and nine digs, while Wilkinson had six blocks.
Libero Heather Meeuwsen finished with 21 digs for CSI.
Against Yavapai, the Golden Eagles were led by Keani Passi's 13 kills. Wilkinson added six kills and five blocks. Meeuwsen was the only Eagle to end the match in double digits in digs with 15.
CSI improves to 11-5 overall. The Golden Eagles travel to Snow and Salt Lake next week to open Region 18 play.
