TWIN FALLS - The College of Southern Idaho softball team got back on track this weekend, scoring 65 runs and giving up just two, defeating Colorado Northwestern 24-2, 12-0, 14-0 and 15-0.
The Golden Eagles gave up their only two runs in the first inning of the first game on an errant throw from third. After that, the CSI pitchers kept the Spartans off balance, throwing 19 innings of shut-out ball.
At the plate, the Golden Eagles were even more dominant and did it without the long ball. CSI hit just five home runs on the weekend - three coming from Mikkel Griffin.
Most impressive was sophomore Kelsey Bryant. The Golden Eagle shortstop got out just once at the plate, going 11-for-12 on the weekend with 10 RBI.
CSI improves to 31-13 overall and 25-6 in Scenic West Athletic Conference play. The Golden Eagles travel to league-leading Salt Lake Friday. The last time the two teams played, they split.
