HENDERSON - The College of Southern Idaho dropped three out of four games in Henderson after riding a 12-game win streak. The Golden Eagles lost 16-5 and won 15-13 Friday before losing 13-12 and 12-4 on Saturday.
The Golden Eagles remain in second place behind league-leading Salt Lake and still five games up on Southern Nevada in Scenic West Athletic Conference play.
CSI struggled all weekend to get outs. With the wind blowing out, the two teams combined for 22 home runs in four games. While the Golden Eagles had 13 of those, they weren't at key times. In the four games, CSI left 37 runners on base.
Kelsey Bryant led the Eagles at the plate, going 7-for-12 with five RBI and two home runs.
Marina Groenewegen hit four home runs on the weekend for CSI, going 7-for-16 with 10 RBI.
The Golden Eagles move to 27-13 overall and 21-6 in league play. CSI hosts Colorado Northwestern Friday at 1 p.m. and Saturday at noon for doubleheaders.
