CSI Baseball takes three from Southern Nevada

HENDERSON, Nev. - The College of Southern Idaho stayed just one game back of league-leading Salt Lake by taking three out of four games on the road against College of Southern Nevada. The Golden Eagles split on Friday, winning 4-1 and losing 4-2 before sweeping on Saturday 3-1 and 11-0.
CSI's pitching was key all weekend.
Travis Huber got the win on the mound Friday, throwing 5.1 innings and giving up just four hits and one earned run with nine strikeouts.
Vavra posted the first win Saturday, going 6.2 innings giving up two hits and one earned run with seven strikeouts. Paul Schaak followed with the nightcap victory, throwing 4.2 innings and giving up four hits and no runs.
The Golden Eagles improve to 13-5 overall and 7-1 in Scenic West Athletic Conference play. CSI plays a non-conference doubleheader Monday with Dawson CC at home before traveling to Salt Lake Friday and Saturday. The Bruins are just one game ahead of CSI with an 8-0 conference record.
