TWIN FALLS - The third-ranked College of Southern Idaho defeated Colorado NW Saturday 89-62, finishing the regular season all alone atop of the Scenic West Athletic Conference standings.
The Golden Eagles jumped out to an early lead behind the scoring of
Pierre Jackson and rebounding of
Kenny Buckner. Jackson ended the game with 17 points and Buckner posted a double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds.
Jerrold Brooks added 17 points for the Golden Eagles.
CSI also treated fans to a Wendy's night by holding its opponent under 70 points.
The Golden Eagles improve to 26-4 overall and 12-3 in league play. CEU, which lost to North Idaho on Saturday, drops to 10-5 for second place.
CSI opens the Region 18 Tournament Friday at 7:30 p.m. against the winner of Snow College and North Idaho.
