TWIN FALLS, Idaho - College of Southern Idaho guard
Pierre Jackson hit a timely 3-pointer and the Golden Eagle men's basketball team held on to beat North Idaho 76-71 Saturday in Scenic West Athletic Conference play.
Jackson knocked down his first 3-pointer of the game with 2 1/2 minutes to play to give CSI a 4-point lead. Then another 3-pointer by Jackson and six free throws by CSI players sealed the win for the 7th-ranked Golden Eagles.
Teammate Mitch Brunell also came up big all night for CSI, scoring 12 points to go with nine rebounds.
The Golden Eagles improve to 24-4 overall and 10-3 in league play.
CSI hosts CEU Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in the tie-breaking game to see who wins the Scenic West Athletic Conference race. The two teams are tied at the top.
