TWIN FALLS - The 12th-ranked College of Southern Idaho men's basketball team dominated 13th-ranked Salt Lake 97-71 Saturday to take a two-game lead in the Scenic West Athletic Conference race.
CSI and Salt Lake were tied heading into the weekend. But SLCC's loss to North Idaho Thursday and CSI Saturday put the Eagles all alone at the top.
Six players finished in double figures led by Pierre Jackson's 14. The Golden Eagle bench outscored the Bruin bench 43-21. Another key to the game was CSI's free-throw shooting. The Golden Eagles knocked down 85 percent, going 35-for-41.
CSI improves to 20-2 overall and 6-1 in league play.
