YUMA, Ariz. - The College of Southern Idaho softball team finished a three-day tournament in Yuma, Ariz. with a 5-3 record.
The Golden Eagles showed glimpes of the team CSI head coach
Nick Baumert thinks they will become.
"We looked tired and a little beat up at times," Baumert said. "But we had moments where we looked really solid."
CSI beat Dawson 13-1, Arizona Western 6-5, El Paso 11-8 and 7-2 and Golden West 7-4. the Golden Eagle losses came to Central Arizona 2-0 and Eastern Arizona 4-1 and 8-2.
CSI, ranked 20th in the nation, has played 14 games in nine days, taking its record to 9-5 overall.
The Golden Eagles open Scenic West Athletic Conference play Wednesday in St. George, Utah. CSI plays Colorado NW Wednesday and Thursday in two doubleheaders followed by undefeated Salt Lake CC Friday and Saturday.
The Golden Eagles play at home Feb. 19th and 20th against Snow College.
