CSI Softball splits with NIC on final day

TWIN FALLS, Idaho - After taking a convincing win over North Idaho College in the opener 7-3, the College of Southern Idaho softball team blew a 3-1 7th-inning lead in second game to lose 7-3 Saturday.
The Golden Eagles finished the weekend 3-1 over the visiting Cardinals to improve to 20-10 overall and 11-5 in league play.  North Idaho moves to 17-11 overall and 14-6 in SWAC action.
CSI shared the hits in game one, finishing with a team total of 12 to just four for NIC. Generra Nielsen earned her 11th win of the season.
In the late game, the Golden Eagles fell prey to errors and timely hitting by North Idaho in the top of the 7th to give up six runs and the victory.
CSI is off next week with a league bye.
