EPHRAIM, Utah - The 12th-ranked College of Southern Idaho women's basketball team fell to Salt Lake 66-52 Friday night before rebounding to defeat Snow College 90-83 Saturday in Scenic West Athletic Conference action.
The Golden Eagles held the nation's leading scorer Haley Holmstead to just five first-half points but struggled to knock down any shots from the field themselves. For the game, CSI shot just 14 percent from beyond the 3-point line and 33 percent from the field.
CSI was led by Laurel Kearsley, who scored 13 points.
The Golden Eagles were a completely different team on Saturday, knocking down 10 3-pointers and hitting 75 percent of their free throws in beating the Badgers in a shootout.
Snow knocked down 67 percent from beyond the arc and 83 percent from the free-throw line.
Leading the way for the Golden Eagles was Tina Fakahafua with 18 points and six rebounds. Kearsley added 13 pionts and 11 rebounds.
CSI improves to 11-2 overall and 1-1 in league play. The Golden Eagles have a couple weeks off before leaving for Arizona in late December.
