TWIN FALLS - The College of Southern Idaho knocked down 15 3-pointers en route to a 89-68 win over Casper Saturday in the Boise Office Equipment Invitational.
The Golden Eagles shot close to 50 percent from behind the arc, led by Kyler Parai's five 3-pointers. Parai ended the game with 17 points, five rebounds and five assists on her way to being named the tournament's MVP.
CSI's Tina Fakandahafau had another great night for the Golden Eagles, sparking them early. On Friday, the sophomore came within three assists of a triple double. On Saturday, she did her damage early, scoring four points to go with three rebounds, three assists and two steals by the half. She ended with 11 points, four rebounds, four assists and three steals.
Casper pulled within five in the second half but CSI knocked down eight 3-pointers in the last 10 minutes to pull away.
CSI's Laurel Kearsley and Guilhermina El-Mir joined Parai on the all-tournament team. Kearsley scored 15 points, pulled down four rebounds and dished out six assists Saturday. El-Mir added 11 points and nine rebounds.
Other all-tournament members included Allie Finch of Snow and Rosalie Cutri and Jasmine Belin, both of Casper.
The Golden Eagles improve to 7-1 on the year.
