Golden Eagle volleyball falls short against NIC

CSI vs. North Idaho Boxscore

COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho - The College of Southern Idaho battled back from a 2-0 game deficit to take the match five sets but couldn't pull out a win against 6th-ranked North Idaho College Saturday, losing 28-26, 25-22, 18-25, 22-25, 15-8.
The victory all but solidifies hosting rights for the Cardinals for the Region 18 tournament in November.
Still the Golden Eagles had a few good things to take away from the match.
Just two days earlier, CSI head coach Heidi Cartisser moved middle blocker Alyssa Everett to the right side looking for a bigger block and better hitting consistency. At the same time, she made the switch defensively to Sierra Hansen who played back row for Everett and moved Taylor Wilkinson into a starting role at middle blocker.
The result might have been a loss but the Eagles outblocked North Idaho and Cartisser is liking the new look.
Beth Carey and Elisa Brochado led CSI offensively, finishing with 15 and 19 kills respectively. Carey added six blocks.
The Golden Eagles host CEU Thursday.
