CSI WBB knocks off 2nd-ranked SLCC

TWIN FALLS, Idaho - In one of their best defensive efforts of the season, the Lady Golden Eagles knocked off the 2nd-ranked team in the nation Salt Lake CC 74-59 Saturday in Scenic West Athletic Conference play.
The win was College of Southern Idaho women's coach Randy Rogers 200th of his career at CSI.
CSI forced SLCC into 23 turnovers and held the nation's leading scorer Haley Holmstead to just nine points (two in the second half).
The Golden Eagles also dominated on the offensive glass. They ended the game with 23 offensive rebounds and 45 total compared to 36 for SLCC.
Keying CSI defensive pressure were Felicity Jones, Daidra Brown and Nicole Harper. The threesome combined for 31 points, 9 steals, 12 assists and 16 rebounds.
The Golden Eagles, who improve to 15-7 overall and 7-5 in SWAC action, have a bye next week and return to action Feb. 5th at Eastern Utah.
