TWIN FALLS, Idaho - The College of Southern men's basketball team defeated College of Eastern Utah 83-77 Thursday in overtime in Scenic West Athletic Conference play.
With 13 seconds left in regulation,
DJ Stennis drove to the basket and scored his only basket to that point in the game to tie it up and eventually send it to overtime.
Nine players fouled out of Thursday's game with a total of 67 fouls called.
CSI knocked down 88 percent of its free throws in the first half to stay in the game, trailing only 35-31 at the half. But the second half was not kind as CSI made just 10 of 25 for 40 percent.stretch
Still, CSI got it to overtime and hit 8 of 12 free throws down the stretch to improve to 12-7 overall and 4-5 in league play. After starting 6-0 in SWAC play, CEU has lost three straight games.
Kenny Buckner came up huge for CSI, scoring 13 points and pulling down 13 rebounds.
CSI hosts Colorado Northwestern Saturday at 5 p.m.
