CSI vs. Sheridan College Boxscore
SHERIDAN, Wyo. - The College of Southern Idaho women's basketball team opened its season 2-0, defeating Western Wyoming 75-65 Friday and Sheridan College 83-64 on Saturday at the Sheridan College Tournament.
Against Western Wyoming, point guard
Daidra Brown led the Eagles with 22 points and four steals. Also key was freshman
Laurel Kearsley. Kearsley hit the boards for 10 rebounds and scored 7 points, while pre-season All-American
Shauneice Samms sat the bench in foul trouble.
In the Sheridan College game, the Golden Eagles played a lot better and knocked their free throws. CSI was led by Samms 25 points and nine rebounds. She also had two assists, two blocked shots and three steals. For the game, the Golden Eagles hit 16 of 19 free throws for 84.2 percent.
Matkin ended the game with seven assists, two more than the entire CSI team had Friday night against Western Wyoming.
The Golden Eagles host the Coca Cola Classic Tournament Thursday, Friday and Saturday. CSI will play at 6 p.m. each day.
