The College of Southern Idaho men's basketball team will be one of four top JUCO teams in the nation competing in the Holiday Hoops Classic Dec. 19-20 in Las Vegas, Nev.
The Golden Eagles will open at 11:15 a.m. on Dec. 19 against 20th-ranked Monroe College. The winner of CSI-Monroe will play the winner of 3rd-ranked Midland College and 4th-ranked Three Rivers CC at 11:15 a.m. Dec. 20. The losers of both games will play the 9 a.m. game on the 20th.
In conjunction with the JUCO portion of the tournament, there will be four NCAA Division I men's teams (San Diego, USF, San Francisco and Southern Illinois) and four NCAA Division I women's teams (Baylor, Arizona State, Gonzaga and Texas A&M) competing. The NCAA men's games will be played at 2 p.m. and 4:15 p.m. with the women's NCAA games following at 6:30 p.m. and 8:45 p.m.
Tickets sold at the door will be $25 per day or $40 for the tournament (6 games per day). Those interested in attending can pre-purchase tickets from the CSI Athletics Department for $30 for the tournament.
