Brendan Wheeler

Brendan Wheeler will be the College of Southern Idaho new Women's Head Basketball Coach for the 2026-2027 season.
Wheeler replaces longtime head coach Randy Rogers, who retired at the end of the 2025-2026 season.
"We are very excited to welcome Brendan into the CSI Family," said CSI Athletic Director Daequon Montreal. "Brendan brings with him a wealth of experience and an energy that fits with the expectations we have in CSI Athletics. We can't wait to see what he will achieve as the new head coach."
Wheeler joins the Golden Eagles from his most recent job as women's basketball assistant coach at Saint Mary's College in Moraga, Calif. He helped the Gaels to a WNIT appearance in 2024-25 and has been with them for two years.
Prior to coaching at Saint Mary's, Wheeler was a men's assistant coach at Cal Poly Pomona (2022-2024) and was the men's basketball director of player development at Cal Baptist University (2019-2022). He also served as the University of Southern California graduate assistant coach from 2017-2019.
Not only does Wheeler have experience at four-year schools, but also served as the Moorpark College Men's Basketball Associate Head Coach from 2014-2017. While at Moorpark, a junior college in California, he helped the Raiders to a Western State conference Championship in 2016.
Wheeler began his coaching career at his Alma Mater Bishop Alemany High School, coaching on the varsity staff from 2005–14. During that run Alemany won its first CIF State, Regional, and Section titles in 2012, and earned Los Angeles Times Coaching Staff of the Year honors
He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from California State University, Northridge in 2010, a Master of Arts degree in Kinesiology from Fresno Pacific University in 2016 and a Master's degree in Gerontology from USC in 2019.
A Southern California native, Wheeler is married to the former Taleia Gilliam. Together they have two sons - Xander and Titus.
