CSI Women roll to victory in home opener

JEROME, Idaho - The CSI Women's Soccer team remained undefeated on Thursday afternoon, as they knocked off in-state rival North Idaho 4-2 in their first home contest of the season.
With both teams picking up conference opening wins over the weekend, it was North Idaho who struck first scoring the games first goal in the eighth minute to take an early lead. The Golden Eagles would answer back with four unanswered goals, as they were able to equalize in the 17th minute as Dani Gross scored on a ball from Carina Muegge. Shortly after tying the game, the Golden Eagles took the lead in the 24th minute on a goal from local Twin Falls product Elektra Cresswell. The Golden Eagles never looked back after taking the lead, as they added one more goal before halftime off of the foot of Abby Linderman
In the second half, Brielle Cooper extended the lead with a goal in the 63rd minute, before North Idaho added another goal in the 82 minute, as the Golden Eagles stopped the bleeding there to pull out the 4-2 victory.
The Golden Eagles out shot the Cardinals 21-13, with nine of their 21 shots being shots on goal. Avery Charlesworth was credited with the win in goal, as she made five saves in the victory.
CSI, now 3-0-0 (2-0-0) will be right back in action on their home field on Saturday, as they host Pacific Northwest Christian at 11:00 a.m.
