SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - The CSI Women's Soccer team kicked off their 2026 season in a big way, blanking 14th-ranked Laramie County 3-0 on Monday afternoon for their first win of the season.
The Golden Eagles were on the attack all afternoon, as they totaled 18 shots and 12 shots on goal while only surrendering four total shots and one shot on goal. In the 20th minute, Twin Falls native
Elektra Cresswell found the back of the net for the first goal of the season and opened the floodgates for the Golden Eagles. CSI would quickly extend their lead in the 27th minute as
Brielle Cooper scored, followed shortly after by sophomore Hailey Pool to push the CSI lead to 3-0. Pool and Cooper would also notch an assist in the win.
Avery Charlesworth contributed to the clean sheet with one save.
The Golden Eagles will now travel to Washington this weekend for a pair of scrimmages before beginning SWAC play September 5th.
