TWIN FALLS - The College of Southern Idaho used a big run to start the second half to beat College of Eastern Utah 82-72 Thursday in Scenic West Athletic Conference play.
With a five-point halftime lead, CSI forced three straight turnover and scored six straight points to push the lead to 12. The Golden Eagles stretched that to 20 points with 15 minutes to play and then just coasted the rest of the game.
Taylor Altenburg led CSI with 16 points, including four 3-pointers. Teammate
Mechela Barnes added 12 points and
Tina Fakahafua finished with 10 points and six rebounds.
CSI improves to 21-8 overall and 8-6 in league play. The Golden Eagles host Colorado Saturday at 3 p.m. and will open the Region 18 Tournament next Thursday against Colorado NW at noon.
