SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - The College of Southern Idaho women's basketball team struggled to shoot the ball, falling to Mesa 54-53 before coming back to dominate Scottsdale 76-25 and Madison College 66-32 on a three-day trip to Arizona.
CSI trailed by 12 at the half against Mesa and climbed back into the game, taking a two-point lead with less than a minute to play. But Mesa hit a 3-pointer and CSI couldn't score before the buzzer sounded.
Felicity Jones led the Eagles with 13 points.
Against Scottsdale, CSI held the Fighting Artichokes to just six first-half points.
Laurel Kearsley scored 15 points for the Eagles to go with 13 rebounds, three assists and four blocked shots.
It was CSI's defense that again carried them against Madison College. The Golden Eagles held Madison College to just 18.8 percent from the field for the game. CSI out-rebounded Madison 56-33 as well.
The Golden Eagles improve to 13-3 overall. They travel to Treasure Valley Jan. 5th before hosting North Idaho College Saturday at 5 p.m.
