TWIN FALLS - The College of Southern Idaho women's basketball team overcame a dismal shooting performance to beat College of Central Florida 75-66 Saturday in the final game of the Coca Cola Classic tournament.
CSI shot just 1-of-18 from the 3-point line but used its agressive defense to force Central Florida into 32 turnovers.
Kyler Paria led the Golden Eagles with 20 points, six steals and two assists. Teammate
Chakala Carthen added 15 points and nine rebounds.
Paria was named MVP of the tournament. Other tournament members included CSI's Carthen and
Mechela Barnes as well as Sheridan's Kelli Cordell and Central Florida's Moniqua Darby and Quinnecia Twine.
CSI improves to 3-0 on the season. The Golden Eagles travel to Midland for a tournament next week.
