TWIN FALLS, Idaho - College of Southern Idaho's Asim Jones will be trading mountains for beaches when he makes the move next fall to Florida International in Miami to play basketball.
Jones, who was a Region 18 First-Team selection and NJCAA Honorable Mention All American, led the Golden Eagles in scoring. The point guard averaged 17.5 points and 4.8 assists per game to lead CSI. He also averaged 4.1 rebounds and 2.1 steals per game. Jones shot almost 50 percent from the field and 77 percent from the free-throw line.
During his time at CSI, the Golden Eagles posted a 52-11 overall record. As a freshman he was a part of the team that finished with an undefeated regular season record, for only the second time in the history of CSI Men's Basketball.
Florida International University competes in Conference USA.
