CSI Softball
The College of Southern Idaho softball team returns four All-Region 18 players to a first-year program that finished the 2007 season one game away from qualifying for the national tournament. In all, the Golden Eagles have 12 returning players. Not only did the Golden Eagles place second at the Region 18 Tournament but earned NJCAA Academic All American Team honors for posting a team gpa higher than 3.0. CSI head coach Nick Baumert was named Region 18 Coach of the Year. Softball is just one of the athletic teams that is part of a department steeped in tradition. In all, Golden Eagle athletic teams have won 16 national championships and 76 region trophies. The Golden Eagles play in the Scenic West Athletic Conference against North Idaho College, Salt Lake CC, Snow College, Southern Nevada CC and Colorado NW. The winner qualifies for the national tournament in Florida.
