Women's Basketball welcomes new assistant

TWIN FALLS - The College of Southern Idaho women's basketball program announces the hiring of Jason Nichols as the assistant coach.
Nichols joins the Eagles for his second stint, having volunteered as an assistant in 2009-2010 before leaving to accept an assistant position at the University of Alaska Fairbanks.
"We are excited to have Jason return to CSI," said CSI head coach Randy Rogers. "With his recruiting ties to the Northwest and our success in bringing in players from the Northwest, he is a great fit."
Nichols began his coaching career at Boise State University, where he earned his bachelor's in physical education. He served as the men's student assistant coach from 2005 to 2008. In 2008, the Broncos were crowned Western Athletic Conference regular season champions and reached the NCAA Tournament.
In 2009, Nichols was hired as the boys basketball assistant at Capital High School in Boise, where he student taught during his senior year at BSU.
At Alaska Fairbanks, he helped with scouting and recruiting as well as serving as the strength coach for the student athletes.
For the Golden Eagles, Nichols will have a key role in academics, recruiting, guard play and travel arrangements.
"One of Jason's main attributes is his ability to connect with student athletes and help them succeed on and off the court," Rogers said.
