CSI head coach and player earn national honors

TWIN FALLS - College of Southern Idaho head men's basketball coach Steve Gosar earned NJCAA Men's Basketball Coaches Association Coach of the Year for the 2010-2011 season and Golden Eagle guard Pierre Jackson claimed Player of the Year honors.
In just his third season at the helm for CSI, Gosar brought home the men's basketball program's third national championship and its first in 24 years.
His squad finished the 2010-2011 season with a 33-4 record, winning the SWAC Championship, the Region 18 Championship, the District 1 title and then the NJCAA National Championship. In his three years as head coach, Gosar has earned a 75-24 win-loss record.
Jackson led the Golden Eagles in scoring at 18.6 points per game. Jackson earned Region 18 first-team honors, Region 18 Tournament MVP honors and NJCAA Tournament MVP honors along with NJCAA All-American first-team accolades.
At the DI men's basketball championships, he led the tournament field with 96 points and set a new tournament record with 46 made free throws.
Jackson has signed to play for Baylor University next season.
