CSI Softball sweeps Western Nevada on the road

CARSON City, Nevada - After dominating Western Nevada College 8-0 and 16-1 on Friday in a Scenic West Athletic Conference softball doubleheader, the College of Southern Idaho had to grind out 13-11 and 5-2 victories on Saturday.
CSI's Generra Nielson was the difference maker in the circle again for CSI. She gave up just one hit in the opening game of the series and then came in to hold off WNC in Saturday's first game. When she entered the game, the Golden Eagles trailed 11-9. CSI scored four runs in the top of the 7th and Nielson notched her second win of the weekend. In game four, Nielson continued her winning ways by giving up just two hits and one earned run. She gave up just four hits all weekend.
At the plate, Lyndi Miller had a huge weekend for CSI. Miller finished the weekend 7-for-12 (.583) at the plate with a grand slam and three doubles, notching eight RBIs.  Kelsey Bryant (6-for-11), Jessica Albertson (8-for-15) and Chelsea Nix (5-for-10) also swung it well all weekend.
The Golden Eagles improve to 24-10 overall and 15-5 in conference play. They moved into second place in the league with just one weekend remaining for the halfway point of conference play. CSI travels to College of Southern Nevada (17-8, 13-6) for doubleheaders on Friday and Saturday.
