COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa - The College of Southern Idaho volleyball team had little trouble getting past Seminole State 25-17, 25-12, 25-19 and Miami-Dade 25-21, 21-25, 25-20, 25-15 Thursday in the opening rounds of the NJCAA National Tournament.
Leading the way for CSI in both matches was
Jessica Peacock. Peacock finished with 12 kills and 8 digs against Seminole State and 15 kills and 13 digs against Miami-Dade. CSI setter
Barbara Alcantara also had big games, posting double-doubles in both. She had 35 assists and 10 digs in the opener and followed with 46 assists and 18 digs against Miami-Dade.
The two wins move the Golden Eagles into the semifinals Friday against Salt Lake CC at 5:30 p.m. MST. The winner advances to the championship on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. MST against the winner of MSU-WP and Western Nebraska. The loser plays for third at 3:30 p.m. MST against the loser of MSU-WP and Western Nebraska.
